Participants enjoy superb wines, meet new merchants, meet and make new friends and support the Lions Club. We're pleased to say we broke our ticket sales record last Fall. We are looking to have even more merchant venues, wineries and more fun at our next Wine Walk in May 2025!
Besides having a great time, your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and fund our mission. (See below for a list of what we do).
We think you will agree that the ticket price is a great deal. How can we offer tastings from a dozen or more outstanding wineries and all that fun for that price? Out of the generosity of the wineries and the downtown businesses hosting them. More information on ordering tickets to follow. Follow us on Facebook.
The Lions Club mission is to empower Lions Clubs, volunteers, and partners to improve health and well-being, strengthen communities, and support those in need through humanitarian services and grants that impact lives locally, regionally and globally, and encourage peace and international understanding.
What we accomplish for our community and beyond by working together gives us a deep sense of 'pride'. You will develop friendships, sharpen your people, leadership and teamwork skills, and have fun and fulfilment in a group of civic-minded men and women who have banded together to do the things they cannot do alone.
Formerly the Jacksonville Lions Club, founded April 13th, 1948, we have expanded to serve more of Southern Oregon. We are now the Rogue Valley Lions Club. In addition to service projects, we raise funds through various activities, including our biannual Wine Walks in historic downtown Central Point, to support a number of local, regional and international charitable organizations, with an emphasis on sight and hearing, particularly the Southern Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Center, and a number of other worthy causes.
Here is just a bit of what we do -
With the money we raise, we support charitable sight and hearing organizations, such as the Medford Lions Sight and Hearing Center. We sponsor local educational endeavors, including scholarships, art contests, spelling bees, American Flag education, the annual Jacksonville Elementary School production at the Britt Festival and a college scholarship. Other projects include collecting stuffed toys for first responders for children in distressful situations, and our Adopt-a-Road cleanup twice a year, and we assemble and deliver over 50 Christmas food baskets/bags to shut-ins through ‘Food & Friends’. We help Debbie Saxbury and other civic-minded folks with their projects.
